It is a festival who comes in the month of ZillHajj, according to the Lunar calender of Islamic Community. It is celebrated after the slaughtering sacrifice of an animal. There is much religious importance of Eid UL Adha, As It is not only a festival but also a memoir of Prophet Ibrahim.

Eid ul Adha or the Festival of Sacrifice is verily said as It illustrates the incident as mentioned in Torah, The religious book of Israel or Yehudi and In the pages of Quran, The holy book of Muslims
"It is the sacrifice OF Abraham, when he was with his wife Sarah and son Ismael, that he preferred The Lord not the worldly desire to lay down the ultimate potential of faith" though He was rewarded, His son was replaced by a sheep.
This incident exemplified the true essence of faith of a man which is only be matched if the man readily agrees to sacrifice all his material wealth, his wisdom and his emotional ties.

Further More, Eid ul Adha is considered to be a boon from the GOD Almighty, just as Eid ul Fitr is celebrated after 30 days of fasting, Eid ul Adha is celebrated when the sacrifice is being made and The Hajj has been performed on 10th of Zilhajj.
It is noticeable that Hajj is the 5th most important pillar of the building of Islam after Kalima, Namaz, fastings and Zakat.

The beauty, The animal power and the certain properties in the relevant animal, makes it get selected.
The animal can be a male goat, Bull or male Buffalo or a camel, all depends upon availability of animals and the financial status of the buyer.
The animal is soon brought home. In Pakistan, all Muslims who can afford an animal to sacrifice take great care of the animal brought for the sacrifice, It is heavily appreciated If the animal is fed by the own hands of the Sacrificer to develop an emotional connection....
The children of the family, adorns the animal with flowers and henna, They play with the animal and love it alot, But It is highly prohibited to harm the animal.
But on the day of Sacrifice, They readily agree to loose their beloved
 animal for the will of GOD Almighty.

The meat of the animal is divided into three equal portions.
One for the poor
One for the relatives 
One for the family
